Shortlease is leasing a car for a short term of 1 month to 2 years. Here you are not stuck with a (long-term) lease contract with a fixed term. In fact, after 1 month, you can already terminate the contract. You can also adjust the rental terms in the interim according to use, or switch cars if necessary. It is basically the golden middle ground between rental and lease. You pay less than with a rental contract, but because of the flexibility, a little more than with a long-term lease with a fixed term.
Monthly term
Supershortlease is part of Rebel Lease B.V. You will receive invoices from Rebel Lease B.V. You pay a monthly installment invoice each month. Regardless of the number of days in the month, you pay for 30 days on each installment invoice. After you return the car, we will check how many calendar days you have used the car, and to what extent you have to pay extra days, or will be reimbursed (if too many days were charged in advance).
Rate
The monthly rate is determined based on the number of kilometers you expect to drive, and how long you expect to need the car. The longer you plan to drive the car (i.e., if you can/want to commit a little longer), the lower the monthly fee. Our contracts start on the basis of 10,000 kilometers on an annual basis, which translates to 833 kilometers per month. If you expect to drive more than that, we'll adjust the number of free kilometers accordingly in your contract, and you'll pay a higher amount per month for that. The maximum number of free kilometers within our shortlease contracts is 50,000 on an annual basis, equivalent to 4166 per month.
Free kilometers
Suppose you drive the shortlease car for 65 calendar days, and you entered into a shortlease contract based on 10,000 kilometers. 65 calendar days is converted to 2 monthly installments of 30 days and 5 more individual days. Per 30 days you can drive 833 free kilometers (10,000 / 12 months), and per single day you can drive 28 free kilometers (833 / 30 days). So in total you can drive (833 x 2) + (28 x 5) = 1806 free kilometers in 65 days. For each additional kilometer driven, you pay the fee specified in your shortlease contract.
Deposit
Before we deploy the shortlease car, we require a deposit of at least 2 monthly installments. The monthly "rent" invoices are paid via iDeal or bank transfer, at the beginning of each new month.

No, you don't have to live in the Netherlands. But we do want to know where you will be staying during the shortlease period in the Netherlands.
The car will be refueled at our location. If you pick up the car yourself, the tank will be full. If the car is brought to your location, fuel was consumed to get to your location.
Our fleet is continuously updated with new cars, so there is a chance that you get a new car. In most cases, the passenger cars are not older than 2 years.
Cars are often available in multiple colors and with various extras. No rights can be derived from the specifications, equipment and options listed on the website and in the quote. Before deployment, we will coordinate with you about which car or cars are available, and of course try to take into account your needs and preferences.
You can have an additional driver added to the contract free of charge, provided of course he/she has a valid driver's license. Please give us the driver's name and copy of driver's license so we can include it on the shortlease contract. That way, everything is taken care of in terms of insurance.
Supershortlease owns the car, and will therefore receive the fine from the taxing authority. We pay the fine, in order to avoid unnecessary increases, and charge it increased by €12.10 incl. VAT (€10.00 excl. VAT) administration costs to you as the driver. Do you disagree with the fine? Then you can file an objection yourself. The original fine will explain how to do this. If the objection is upheld, we will be notified and will credit you the fine. The administrative costs remain intact, because of the administrative processing we have to perform anyway.
For short lease contracts, we deploy cars from our moving fleet. We have many different makes, models, in different versions, colors and with different options. We try to take your wishes into account, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will get a particular color of car, for example. We reserve a car only after your details have been approved by the underwriting department.
No, a short lease contract is not registered with BKR. A short lease contract is terminable by day after 1 month, and therefore does not count as a long-term debt.
No, additional taxes (bijtelling) only apply if you drive private kilometers, with a car provided by your employer.
We have no minimum age, but you must have held your driver's license for at least 1 year.
Nice that you want to proceed with the quotation! You have received the quote digitally. If you want to proceed with our proposal, click 'Yes' at the top of the page, you will automatically receive an email from us with the information we need from you.
If you agree to our short lease proposal, we need the following data from you:
* The desired deployment date
* Copy of driving license and passport
* Copy of recent pay slip
* Copy of recent bank statement showing salary deposit
Submit these documents digitally through our secure customer portal. Based on the information provided, our underwriting department will determine whether we can provide you with a car.
It is possible that we request additional (financial) information if the above is not sufficient for acceptance. Why do we ask for this information? We find it important that you make a realistic financial commitment, therefore we would like to get insight into your situation. It is annoying if you enter into a contract with a monthly payment obligation that you actually cannot pay. It is our duty to protect you from that.
If you quickly submit the requested information after accepting the offer, the acceptance department will process your request within 1 business day. Once we have the green light to deploy the car, one of our account managers will contact you to discuss terms and conditions.
Before the start of the short lease contract, the standard condition is that you pay a deposit of 2 months. You will also receive an invoice for the first month's instalment before you use the car, which must be paid before delivery or collection of the short lease car.
The deposit will of course be returned to you after returning the car if there is nothing else to settle (e.g. outstanding monthly payment invoices, fuel, fines, damage or extra kilometers).
Why does Supershortlease ask for a deposit?
It gives us more security that no outstanding items remain, should (financial) problems arise during or after the short lease period. Unpaid bills are no fun for anyone, and we build in some protection for that.
Our service is completely digital (except for delivering the physical short lease car). You will receive a digital contract from us by e-mail, which you can digitally sign after approval by means of a validation code.
Unfortunately, this is not possible with a private short lease contract. You can pay for the fuel yourself at the pump.
An exception applies if you take an electric short lease car. Then you can request an electric charge drop with the car, because you cannot pay at a public charger with your standard debit card.
The short lease contract lasts a minimum of 30 days, which you also have to pay for. After 30 days the contract can be terminated per day, and on the final invoice the total number of days you have used the car will be charged. There is no notice period. No longer needed? Then you can return it tomorrow.
Do you already know in time that you won't need the car at a certain moment? Then you do us a big favor by letting us know in advance. Then we can take it into account in our planning and coordinate with you whether you will return the car or we will have to pick it up somewhere.
You can easily cancel your short lease contract with this form. This way we immediately have all the necessary information to process the termination.
The final inspection of the car is carried out at one of our HuurMij offices. If you return the car yourself, you can check the car together with an employee. If the car is picked up by the transport service, one of our employees will check the car when it is returned to one of our branches. Here the final mileage is recorded, the car is refueled and checked for damage. You remain responsible for the car until it is returned to us at a HuurMij location. You will receive a collection report by e-mail.
Then the final invoice is made and the deposit credited within a maximum of 5 working days. If you are owed money by us, we will transfer it to the account number known to us. Return payments are made on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
If another desired car is available, this is not a problem. A new short lease contract will always be made. Exchanges on the initiative of Supershortlease are free of charge. In case of an exchange on the initiative of the customer, we charge an administration fee.
Read more about all transport and exchange options here.
The minimum term is one month (30 days), unless contractually agreed otherwise. After one month, you can return the car daily.
On average, the short lease contract is made 1 to 2 weeks prior to deployment and the actual license plate is known. This can also be earlier if, for example, only 1 car is still available.
Prior to using the short lease car, you will receive a deposit invoice and a term invoice for the days of the first calendar month that you will use the car.
At the end of the month, you will receive a term invoice for the following calender month. This is a standard invoice for 30 days, including February, and all months with 31 days. We do this so that you are charged the same amount every month. This is a choice. We could also charge you every month for the actual number of days of that month, but because most of our customers don't like that (because a different amount on the invoice every month), we opted for a fixed installment payment of 30 days.
Suppose you start the contract on the 15th of the month, you will receive a deposit invoice in advance and an instalment invoice for the remaining days from the 15th of that calender month. Around the 26th you will then receive a monthly installment invoice for 30 days, for the entire following calendar month.
Fines driven with the shortlease car, will be charged to Supershortlease, as we are the owner of the car. These will be charged with a surcharge of administration costs.
If you use substitute transportation, you will be charged for the first 24 hours of rental unless otherwise agreed.
An excess will be charged per damage incident (due to your own fault). This can be during the short lease contract, but excess can also be charged on the final invoice.
After returning the car, you will receive a final invoice. On this, all components of the short lease contract will be charged, and the rent you paid in advance will be deducted from the subtotal.
Approximately 5 days before the end of the calendar month, you will receive an invoice for the new calendar month via email. The invoice date is the 1st of the new calendar month. You will receive a monthly invoice, on which 30 dagen are charged (even if the month has only 28 days, or even 31). We do this so that you pay the same amount every month.
Payment must reach us on the invoice date (i.e. before the new month starts). With the digital invoice you will receive an iDeal payment link, so you can easily pay the amount directly online. Of course you can also pay the invoiced amount yourself by bank transfer. The correct bank account number can be found on the invoice.
The invoice will not be cashed, you have to pay the invoice yourself.
Yes payment by credit card is possible, but the standard payment method is by iDeal or bank transfer. Please note, that you therefore need to request a payment link from us in time to be able to make the credit card payment on time. We cannot (yet) automate the request for credit card payments in our software.
Our short lease contracts are super flexible (terminable per day)! You can decide at any time whether you want to drive the car for a shorter or longer period than we agreed at the start of the contract. Because of the flexible end date of short lease contracts, this is why each calendar month is billed in advance as a full monthly installment (30 days). We have more than 1,500 short lease cars on the road, so this is an automated process.
If you return the car earlier (for example, on the 16th), the excess days billed in advance are deducted from the final invoice. In the end, you only pay for the days you used the car, with a minimum of 30 days.
Is the final invoice not entirely clear? Don't panic, we have prepared a detailed explanation for you.
Still have questions about the final invoice? Then you can always contact your account manager.
You will receive a damage report of the car by email. This is generated when the car is issued at our facility. Do you see any damage on the car that is not on this report? Please report this within 24 hours after delivery of the car. Do this by e-mail, including a picture of the damage, so we can add it neatly as known damage at issue.

A deductible will be charged if you caused damage to the shortlease car. A deductible is charged per claim according to reasonableness. The maximum excess amount per claim can be found in your short lease contract.
> Are the repair costs lower than a full excess? Then only the repair costs will be charged and not a full deductible.
> Is someone else liable for the damage to the shortlease car? Then the excess is charged to the insurance of the other party, and you pay nothing.
This is of course not the intention! Please contact us as soon as possible.
We try to deliver your short lease car with a minimum of 5,000 kilometers until the next service, so you can hit the road carefree. If you drive a little longer in the short lease car, you won't escape regular maintenance. It's part of the deal. To preserve the car and the mobility guarantee, but of course also for your own driving pleasure.
Is your short lease car due for a service? The regular maintenance of our short lease cars can be performed by the brand dealer. Is the waiting time long or is the brand dealer not in your area? Then you can go to any universal garage that works with leasing companies.
If you can't quite figure it out, fill out the maintenance form in.
You can. Keep in mind that the first 24 hours of replacement transportation are at your own expense. Check with the garage what the cost of the replacement transport will be. Do you need a replacement car for several days? Then the costs after the first 24 hours will be for Supershortlease.
The short lease car has a WA+ casco coverage (in-house), including personal accident passenger insurance. There is an own risk per claim if the shortlease car is returned with damage. This concerns damage that was not yet present at departure and that is not recoverable from a third party.
You pay an excess if there is damage to the car during the use of the short lease car. Is someone else responsible? Then you pay no excess, we will recover this from the other party. Are the repair costs lower than the excess? Then we will charge that amount and not the full excess amount. You will find the amount of the excess in your short lease contract. It depends on the car and your age.
Of course you will be helped on the road abroad in case of breakdown or damage. Individuals are only covered if foreign cover has been taken out for a one-off amount of €75 including VAT. This will only cover costs that cannot be recovered by us via the car manufacturer's or our insurer's warranty coverage.
Apply for international coverage →
You may go abroad with the short lease car, but to some countries you may not. Do take out foreign insurance, so that you can be sure that you will be helped in case of breakdown outside the country's borders.

No, you need to apply for an environmental sticker yourself. This can easily be done via the ANWB.
We keep the original registration documents in the safe for insurance reasons. In case of a rental or short lease car, it is usually sufficient to show the copy of the license plate. Should a fine follow, Supershortlease will pay for it.
Every short lease car comes with the corresponding charging cables.
Supershortlease will order the charge card for you, it will be delivered by Multitankcard. You pay a monthly administrative fee of € 10.00 for using the charge card. The energy costs you have used for charging will be charged to you monthly in arrears.
Apply for Multitankcard →
The monthly short lease rate for an electric short lease car, is slightly higher than for a gasoline short lease car. This is because electric cars are more expensive to purchase.
This is different for each electric car. The smaller cars have a range from over 200 kilometers, mid-size cars about 300 kilometers, to over 400 kilometers with larger cars. This depends on the cars' batteries, but of course also on driving habits. The weather also affects the number of kilometers you can drive on a charged battery.
Depending on the type of electric car and the charging point, you can expect an average charging time of 4 hours before your car is fully charged again.
The car can be picked up (free of charge!) at one of our HuurMij locations.

Yes, the car can be brought to any address in the Netherlands, except the Wadden Islands.

The start and end mileage of the contract and corresponding tankage are determined upon departure and return at the HuurMij location.
Yes you can, you pick up the car at Schiphol Valet Parking. We reserve a parking spot at P6 based on your name, flight number and expected arrival time, and make sure the short lease car is waiting for you there. From P6 it is less than a 10 minute walk to Schiphol Plaza.
After reserving your spot at P6 at Schiphol, you will receive an email from us with instructions. Of course you can also return the shortlease car there. Let us know in time that you want to do this, so we can reserve another spot for you.
